He led a very simple life supported by his wife, Dr. Manjusree Chakravarty. He loved to teach. He believed that students should have devotion, dedication and transparency in all activities. He believed that ideals of Hippocrates oath must be their Polestar. He firmly believed that students must have ‘self-audit’. This will help to create an idea for future planning and innovations. He could mix with his juniors and seniors with ease and was open to criticism and suggestions. His contribution in ART and Reproductive Medicine is boundless but his effort to correct intersex disorders and lower mullerian duct anomalies is unparalleled.

We, his close associates, not only learned the subject but also received the precious gift of his ideology. We always try to follow his advice which are –

  • Devotion to work.
  • Be transparent and honest.
  • Develop some interest in life – other than your profession.
  • Have respect for your patients.
  • Be modest and shun publicity. Let your work speak for you.
